Four floors is a route, and a route has to be learned

Cleaning a tall narrow house efficiently means working top down, carrying as little as possible up, and knowing where the second hoover lives so nobody drags one up three flights. A cleaner who comes every week works out that route in a fortnight; a different person every week never does, and you pay for the difference in hours. It is the most practical reason continuity is worth more here than a pound off the rate.

Painted joinery and original floors, every week

Shutters, panelling, deep skirtings and boards that are oiled rather than lacquered: they want pH-neutral products and a damp cloth, not a spray and a steam mop, and the damage from getting it wrong is cumulative and invisible until it is not. That is a conversation worth having once with somebody who is coming back.

Parking, honestly

It is controlled on every street here and there is rarely anything outside. If you can leave a visitor permit we use it; if not we pay and add it at cost, and you know the amount in advance. On a weekly arrangement we would rather agree the parking question once at the start than have it come up every Tuesday.
