What’s different about cleaning in Cricklewood
Flats above the Broadway
Conversions above the shops and restaurants along Cricklewood Broadway and Cricklewood Lane are a particular job. Extraction from the kitchens below carries grease upwards: it settles on the tops of wall units, on the window frames at the front and on the inside of the glass. It is the single most common thing a check-out clerk flags on this stretch, and it does not come off with a cloth and spray — it needs degreaser and time, which is in the price rather than added on the day.
The Mapesbury conservation area
Chichele Road, Mapesbury Road and the streets around them are brick houses built between about 1895 and 1905, designated a conservation area in 1982. Most are now flats. Original floors, deep skirtings, picture rails and tall sashes with deep glazing bars — all of which take longer than the square footage suggests, and all of which are where the dust actually sits. We price on the property rather than the hour, so a flat that takes us longer costs you the same.
One room at a time
Because so much of NW2 is shared, tenancies here end one bedroom at a time rather than all at once. You almost never need the whole house done. We will quote for the departing room together with the kitchen and the bathroom, which is what the check-out is actually assessing, and it comes in well under a whole-property price.
Landlords running more than one house here get a single monthly invoice and the same two people on every changeover, so nobody has to be shown round twice.
Regular cleaning, not just move-outs
Plenty of our Cricklewood work is weekly or fortnightly housekeeping for families who moved here from NW3 and NW6 for the space — 1930s semis with more floor than they had before. Same named cleaner each visit, £26 an hour weekly, no contract.
