Side returns, loft conversions, knocked-through kitchens — and the cleaning problem that comes with all of them, which is builders' dust. What’s different about cleaning in Kensal Rise
Builders' dust is a different job
Plaster and MDF dust gets into window tracks, light fittings, the tops of doors and the runners on every drawer, and it comes back twice after a normal clean. It needs three passes with the right filtration rather than one thorough one. If your flat has had work done in the last few months, say so when you book and we will plan for it.
Newly renovated does not mean easy to pass
A new kitchen photographs beautifully and still fails on the same things as an old one: the extractor filter straight out of the box already carries grease, and brand-new grout picks up marking fast. Clerks check new fittings as hard as old ones, sometimes harder, because the inventory is fresh.
Terraces, and what the check-out actually finds
The Victorian terraces off Chamberlayne Road mostly share the same faults at check-out: sash window tracks, the space behind the bathroom door, and the tops of the kitchen units. Those are on our list at every property size, and the oven is included rather than added.
Regular cleaning in Kensal Rise — weekly and fortnightly
Kensal Rise households mostly want a fixed weekly slot and the same face, and a good share of them come to us after a renovation. £26 an hour weekly, £28 fortnightly, two-hour minimum, the same named cleaner every visit, and no contract and no exit fee — if it stops working you tell us and it stops. Every cleaner is employed by us on PAYE, right-to-work verified and DBS checked, and we carry £5,000,000 cover.

A typical visit: studio 2 hours · one bed 2½ · two bed 3 · three bed 3½ · four bed 4½. Ten per cent off the first clean, and no contract or exit fee — if it stops working you tell us and it stops. £26 an hour is the rate with your own products and equipment — your hoover, your surfaces, your choice of product, which matters on marble, natural stone and hand-painted joinery. After the builders, a regular clean is the point
Everyone books the big after-builders clean. Almost nobody books the thing that actually keeps a newly done house looking done. Fine plaster dust keeps arriving for weeks — out of the loft hatch, off the tops of new units, out of the cavity round new windows — and a weekly visit for the first month or two is what stops a new kitchen looking dull by Christmas.
New surfaces need different products, and it matters more when it is weekly
Engineered oak, matt lacquered units, quartz and brushed brass are all in new Kensal Rise kitchens and all are damaged by the wrong thing used repeatedly. One wrong wipe is nothing; fifty-two of them dull a finish permanently. We ask what is new and what it is made of at the first visit, and it goes on the notes.
Terraces, and the two areas that take the time
A Clifford Gardens or Purves Road terrace is narrow and deep with one staircase and a long hall, so the traffic concentrates in two places. A weekly visit that does those two properly is worth more than one that gives every room an equal share, and that is how we build the visit.
Office and commercial cleaning in Kensal Rise
Chamberlayne Road and the streets off it carry studios, small agencies, workshops, salons and a run of premises above the shops, and the area still has working light-industrial units towards Kensal Green and the Harrow Road end.
From £30 an hour, quoted as a fixed monthly figure once we have walked the space, on a rolling monthly contract with thirty days’ notice on either side. No twelve-month tie-in. Every cleaner is directly employed by us, right-to-work verified and DBS checked, and signs an NDA as standard. We carry £5,000,000 public liability cover and the certificate goes out with the quotation rather than on request. The site visit is free.
We also do post-fit-out cleans for commercial premises, and the same rule applies as in a house: the soft surfaces want doing a week after the trades have gone, not the same afternoon, or you will be looking at settled dust on the day you open. We will say so and schedule it properly rather than take the money twice.
Oven cleaning in Kensal Rise
On an end of tenancy or deep clean the oven is included free — racks, trays, door glass, the seal and the fan housing. On its own it is £69 for a single, £89 for a double and £129 for a range, and we take the door glass apart rather than wiping between the panes and calling it done.
Kensal Rise throws up two unusual oven jobs. The first is the brand-new oven in a just-finished kitchen — not dirty, but carrying the manufacturing residue and protective film that has to come off before the first proper use, and coated in the same plaster dust as everything else. The second is its opposite: the oven that has been in the house through the whole build, used for eight months by people living on site with the dust. That one is a dip-tank job. Standalone it is £69 for a single, £89 for a double, £129 for a range, and it is included free in an after-builders or end of tenancy clean.
